2015 IEA Ministerial Focuses on Innovation for a Clean, Secure Energy Future

Ministerial Meeting to Take Place on November 17-18 in Paris Ahead of COP21 Climate Negotiations
On 17-18 November, just two weeks before the start of the United Nations COP21 climate negotiations, the International Energy Agency will host its 2015 Ministerial meeting in Paris. Ministers and representatives from IEA and non-IEA countries will discuss collaborative efforts to foster innovation for a clean, secure energy future.
The 2015 IEA Ministerial will highlight how countries and the private sector can collaborate on technology and policy solutions to advance energy innovation to enhance global energy security and combat climate change. The Ministerial will be chaired by U.S. Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz and will provide a forum to introduce initiatives that build on the vision of the new IEA leadership for key international energy stakeholders ahead of the climate negotiations in Paris.
Participants at the 2015 IEA Ministerial meeting include ministers and senior officials from all 29 IEA countries and the European Commission, and non-member countries including Brazil, Chile, China, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Morocco, the Republic of South Africa and Thailand;
In addition, more than 30 CEOs from the IEA Energy Business Council, representing top companies focused on energy issues, are expected to attend.
