AES Reports Strong Year-to-Date Cash Flow and Reaffirms Full-Year 2016 Guidance

The AES Corporation (NYSE:AES) today reported financial results for the three months ending September 30, 2016. Compared with last year, these results reflect higher contributions from the US Strategic Business Unit (SBU) as a result of completion of construction projects at Indianapolis Power & Light in Indiana and the Andes SBU as a result of completion of the 531 MW Cochrane plant as well as lower cost of purchased power and fuel at Gener in Chile. These were largely offset by a lower contribution from the Brazil SBU due to the expiration of Tietê’s contract at the end of 2015. ….
