Kosten hernieuwbare energie steeds lager

22 januari 2015 – Hernieuwbare energie is steeds goedkoper. Onder meer aardwarmte en windenergie zijn wat prijs betreft al concurrerend met fossiele brandstoffen. Dat concludeert de International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) op basis van een uitgebreid kostenonderzoek.

Biomassa, hydropower, aardwarmte en windenergie op land kunnen wat prijs betreft al concurreren met energie uit fossiele bronnen. En ook zonne-energie gaat de goede kant op.

‘(…) The competitiveness of renewable power generation technologies continued improving in 2013 and 2014, reaching historic levels. Biomass for power, hydropower, geothermal and onshore wind can all provide electricity competitively against fossil fuel-fired power generation. Solar photovoltaic (PV) power has also become increasingly competitive, with its levelised cost of electricity (LCOE) at utility scale falling by half in four years. (…)’
