‘Schrap importheffing op Chinese zonnepanelen’
4 december 2015 – Het schrappen van de importheffingen op Chinese zonnepanelen levert volgens SolarPower Europe in de Europese Unie 54.000 extra banen op.
SolarPower Europe (de opvolger van de European Photovoltaic Industry Association EPIA) heeft Ernst & Young een onderzoek laten doen naar de economische potentie van de pv-bedrijfstak.
Uit een bericht van Solar Magazine over het onderzoek
‘(…) Het internationale accountskantoor heeft onder meer het effect van het schrappen van de importheffingen onderzocht. In Duitsland en Italië zou het volgens het bedrijf leiden tot 22.000 extra banen, geëxtrapoleerd naar de Europese Unie zou het leiden tot 54.000 extra banen.
Uit de studie wordt verder duidelijk dat het aantal banen in de Europese solar industrie gedaald is van 180.000 stuks in 2008 naar 110.000 in 2015.
James Watson, chief executive officer van SolarPowerEurope, over de studie: ‘Dit rapport laat zien hoeveel werk er nog de verzetten is voor Europese politici. Op de Klimaattop zien wij hoe landen als India wereldwijd een koploper willen zijn in zonne-energie, wil Europa bijdragen aan de ambitie van de Europese Commissie om de nummer 1 te zijn in hernieuwbare energie; dan moeten we de uitrol van zonne-energie wezenlijk versnellen. De importheffingen en andere handelsbarrières staan dit in de weg.’ (…)’

- A large share of the jobs and of the value created by the PV industry are created in Europe.
- The declining trends observed in 2014 (compared to 2008) are expected to be reversed in the short term, with increased job creation and GVA in 2020 already.
- The removal of the MIP in December 2015 would have a positive effect on employment throughout the value chain in Europe. In such a scenario, 22,000 additional jobs could be created in Germany and Italy alone. (…)’
