Siemens to convert Santo Domingo power plant in Peru to combined cycle

Siemens has received an order to upgrade the simple cycle Santo Domingo de los Olleros power plant to combined cycle. The plant is near Lima, the capital of Peru. The customer is Peru-based supplier Termochilca SA. The combined cycle conversion will increase the power output by approximately 100 megawatts (MW). The improved efficiency will reduce the CO2 emissions per megawatt hour by 30 percent. The high-efficiency combined cycle plant offers an environmentally friendly solution to meet the growing power demand in Lima. It is scheduled to start commercial operation in early 2018. …
