China bouwt in Gobiwoestijn zonnecentrale van 200 MW

27 juli 2015 – In de Gobiwoestijn wordt de grootste CSP-zonnecentrale van China gebouwd, 2.550 ha en een capaciteit van 200 MW.

Dat meldt Chinasquare op basis van een bericht in China Daily.De centrale wordt gebouwd door de Qinghai Solar-Thermal Power Group en kan 1 miljoen gezinnen van stroom voorzien.

‘(…) The facility will be equipped with heliostats to focus sunlight onto a central tower to generate power, helping it deliver higher efficiency and better energy storage than the commonly used trough system. Referring to the plant, group board chair Wu Longyi said: “Its designed heat storage is 15 hours, thus, it can guarantee stable, continual power generation.” The plant is projected to reduce annual coal usage by over four million tonnes, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 896,000 tonnes and sulfur dioxide emissions by 8,080 tonnes. The solar power tower plant is touted to be China’s first large-scale solar power plant under commercial operation.
