Statoil gaat investeren in ondernemingen voor duurzame energie

19 februari 2016 – Statoil steekt de komende vier tot zeven jaar 200 miljoen dollar in duurzame energie. Het concern lanceerde deze week het fonds Statoil Energy Ventures, waarmee het gaat investeren in wind (offshore en op land), zonne-energie, energieopslag, transport, energiebesparing en smart grids.  

De transitie naar een koolstofarme maatschappij creëert kansen voor ondernemers, aldus Irene Rummelhoff, executive vice president voor New Energy Solutions binnen Statoil. ‘Met het nieuwe fonds willen we investeren in aantrekkelijke en ambitieuze bedrijven en bijdragen aan het vormen van de energietoekomst.’

‘(…) The fund is established as part of Statoil’s new business area New Energy Solutions, reflecting the company’s aspirations to gradually complement its oil and gas portfolio with profitable renewable energy and low-carbon solutions. (…)
The fund will take direct positions primarily as a minority shareholder in growth companies, preferably as a co-investor with other venture firms. Investment in selected fund will also be considered to gain a wider footprint. (…)
