Nederland is een van de grootste afnemers van Duitse stroom

4 februari 2016 – De Duitse stroomexport groeide vorig jaar met 50%. De grootste afnemers zijn Oostenrijk, Nederland en Frankrijk. 10% van alle in Duitsland opgewekte energie wordt geëxporteerd.  Een steeds groter deel van vuile stroom wordt uitgevoerd; de schone stroom blijft in eigen land.

Oostenrijk importeerde in 2015 44,89 TWh, Nederland 16,61 TWh en Frankrijk 13,27 TWh. (Oostenrijk exporteerde 15,56 TWh naar Duitsland, Nederland 0,55 TWh en Frankrijk 3,84 TWh).
Dat blijkt uit een rapport van Agora Energiewende (‘The energy transition in the power sector: State of affairs 2015. Review of major developments in Germany.’)

‘(…) Power exports rose considerably in 2015. Physical power flows reached an all-time high at 50 terawatt-hours on balance. This was on balance around eight percent of all power production. Measured by trade flows, net exports amounted to around 61 terawatt-hours, 50 percent more than in the previous year. The Netherlands, Austria and France are the main power importers from Germany. The reason: Germany has the second-lowest market power price in Europe after Scandinavia. (…)’

‘(…) One tenth of all power produced in Germany was sold abroad. “This shows that Germany has an oversupply of power – despite the shutdown of nuclear power plants. The flipside is that Germany is now exporting power produced by coal-fired plants, which renewable energies have made superfluous at home. The climate impact of Germany’s power system therefore hardly improved last year, and overall greenhouse gas emissions even rose slightly,” says Dr. Patrick Graichen, director of Agora Energiewende. He warns: “Without a clear strategy for decarbonising the power, heat and transport sectors, Germany will not be able to reach the climate protection goals it promised in Paris.” (…)’
